MARCH


The Winter Challenge Singles Competition held on the third or fourth Saturday in March, opens our Summer season. Given a sufficient number of entries, commences with a series of leagues, and continues with knockout rounds among the qualifiers, through to a final at around 4.00 pm.


APRIL


This triples competition, in honour of our founder member Ted Burton, is played on the last
Monday of April.
Teams are drawn from the hat and the each team plays all the others.


JUNE


This doubles competition, in honour of our founder member George Durno, is played on the first
Monday of June.
Using the George Durno scoring system where the leading team can't score more than one at each end.
Teams are drawn from the hat and the each team plays all the others.

On a Wednesday evening the first leg of a competition is played with teams from Ongar in the Epping Ongar Challenge.


AUGUST


The Singles Challenge Competitions is played on the first Saturday in August takes the form of a series of leagues, continuing with knockout rounds among the qualifiers.
Competitors play for the Stan Burrows Plate.

A doubles challenge match between the District and Town Councils is played simultaneously with our own finals.


OCTOBER


Our final event of the year is the Autumn Doubles Competition played on the first Saturday in October. In this event each team plays all the others, with a limit on time allowed for each game. There are no trimmings, just almost continuous play, expected to finish at around 4.30 pm. Enter with the partner of your choice, or take your chance with a partner drawn from other unattached entries.

All the competitions commence at 1.30 pm sharp, but please arrive for registration by 1.15 pm. There is an entrance fee for the competitions to cover some of the outlay for the event.

On a Sunday morning the second leg of the Epping Ongar Challenge is played at Ongar.


Membership


Become a member, from January 1st to December 31st, it is only £12.00, whether you play 3 times a week or once a year the cost is the same.
