2. Pointing
- Purpose
- Beginner: to get close(r) to the jack
- Expert: to neutralise the opponent's shooter
- Must "read" the terrain

Stance
a. Squatting
- Better view of the terrain
- Short ends
b. Standing
- Longer ends
c. Rolling
- Smooth terrain
- No obstacles/blocking boules
- Rolling on an uneven terrain is less predictable - hence lobbing (High Point)
d. Medium point
- To avoid rough terrain, stones, blocking boules, etc
- The less the boule rolls, the less it will be deflected
e. High point
- Most accurate
- Most difficult!

3. Shooting
- Purpose
- Hitting opponents' boules out of the way
- If a boule is difficult to out-point
- To bring more boules in to play
