Club Members Code of Conduct
Epping Horizons Petanque Club aims to be a fair, friendly and inclusive club
The content of this members Code of Conduct applies to all members
• Everyone involved at all levels of petanque has a responsibility
to promote and uphold the highest standards of behaviour in our sport
• Petanque is a game to be enjoyed by all players, all the time.
Participate in the Club activities in a manner that promotes harmony and belonging
• Respect the rights, dignity, privacy and worth of others including team-mates,
opponents, officials and spectators
o Treat others as you would wish to be treated
o Do not tease, bully, abuse or harass other people with actions or words.
o Do not treat anyone in a discriminatory way due to ability, race, religion, background,
age, gender, sexual identity or disability
o Avoid booing, taunting, using abusive language or gestures or refusing to shake hands
• Mobile phones should be switched off unless there is a genuine reason why
not
• Take reasonable steps to keep yourself and others safe and never participate under the
influence of drugs or alcohol
• Children to be always supervised by a parent or responsible adult
• Observe the rules of the sport of petanque and any additional rules for
specific events or those implemented by the officials on the day of any event
• Respect and promote the spirit of fair play in petanque, accept success and failure
with dignity, and recognise the achievements of others
• Respect officials and publicly accept their decisions
• Make sure that Petanque is fun for all concerned
